September 13th marked Ladue's first ever Friday night home football game at the new stadium. Cars lined Warson Road awaiting their arrival, people dressed in all black crowded the stadium entrance, and players confidently warmed up. The spirit was visible throughout the crowd. The Ladue community had been looking forward to this night for months and the time had finally come. After senior Mason Player returned Websters kick on the first play with a touchdown the crowd knew what they had in store. The game had just begun and the fans were going crazy. As the Ladue Rams continued to score touchdown after touchdown, the sun was setting in the most bold of colors. Everyone was amazed by the pink and orange sky within their view while watching our players do what they do best. The night went on and the game was coming to an end. The Ladue Rams had done it. We beat Webster on the first ever stadium game. Fans left with the biggest of smiles on their face. History had been made.

10/21/2019 0 Comments First Home game-behind the scenesFor the first ever Friday night lights game at Ladue my classmate, Ava Verstappen, and I decided to document the experience for everyone to be able to look back at. The whole city of Ladue was looking forward to the big game against Webster, and everyone was ready for a big win. The energy and excitement for the game built up day by day until September 13th arrived. Ava, Maria Dolan, and I packed up cameras and equipment to bring to the game. When we arrived we all set out to capture the most memorable aspects of the game. We filmed shots of players, fans, alumni and just the spirit that was visibly being spread among the community. After our classmate Maria helped us to capture photo and video, Ava and I also interviewed former football coach and player, Mark Williams along with a later interview with Head Coach, Mike Tarpey. After collecting footage of the historic game, Ava and I decided to make a news package including the interviews with people of interest from that night. We used the app final cut pro to edit the video daily while also writing blogs revolving around the amazing night. Ava and I edited different parts of the video to put it together with ease. Other tasks included collecting footage off of SD cards which gave us a little bit of unexpected trouble when it came to what card had what clips. After putting in the time to create a video capturing the big point of view of Coach Tarpey, we created an inside look on how amazing the night truly was. 9/16/2019 0 Comments cube tea studio After filming a review on the highly suggested Share Sweet, some students and I wanted to dive a little deeper. Another place that was mentioned during our survey was Cube Tea Studio, which happened to be just five minutes down the road! Here we ordered two new bubble teas and gave them a try. Pictured here, Lucy and Julia hold our next taste test in their hands. The crew and I tried the brown sugar milk tea with boba and the rose passionfruit tea. We were able to sit and reflect on our work while enjoying some interesting new flavors. After visiting Share Sweet we were able to look a little more into why students preferred their tea compared to another place. We came to the conclusion that Share Sweet was the place for us as well! 9/16/2019 0 Comments bubble tea reviewing For my first broadcast technology 2 project some classmates and I decided to focus in on the new craze.. bubble tea! After interviewing a wide variety of high school students, we discovered that the favorite bubble tea location in our city was Share Sweet. As part of our video we decided to capture the reactions of our very own broadcast crew to see what they think. This photo is a behind the scenes of our classmate Maria, filming Jackson, at Share Sweet. Jackson tried the mango green tea with pop boba and ended up liking the drink just as much as other students had! It was a day of filming and trying something new! The equipment we used was a bit of a struggle at first. Hooking up Jackson with a mic and making sure we had the best quality video when it came to the sound in a public place was important. Our video review came out quite well. Something to work on for my next project would be awareness of the background and how it may distract the viewer from the main focus. |
